Supporting Innovation: Broxus Contributes to Uzbekistan’s HUMO Token Pilot

May 16

We’re honored to share that Broxus is contributing to an important initiative led by Uzbekistan – the pilot launch of the HUMO token, a blockchain-based token backed by government-issued bonds.

This project signifies a major leap forward in integrating blockchain technology into national financial systems, and we’re honored to contribute our expertise to this transformative endeavor.

HUMO Token: A New Approach to State-Backed Tokens

The HUMO token is designed to serve as a secure and stable instrument, with each token backed by government-issued bonds. This ensures strong real-world collateral and positions the token as a promising bridge between traditional finance and modern blockchain tools.

The project is closely tied to the existing HUMO payment network, which is used by tens of millions of people across Uzbekistan. Thanks to this established infrastructure, the adoption of blockchain-powered instruments can be seamless and practical – opening up possibilities for more inclusive financial services.

Tycho: The Foundation for Scalable Public Blockchain Infrastructure

As part of the technical implementation, the HUMO pilot will leverage our Tycho blockchain – an optimized solution built to support scalable, secure, and cost-efficient deployments.

Tycho is a high-performance blockchain environment based on the TON Virtual Machine (TVM). Its architecture is tailored for demanding public sector use cases such as social payments, tax automation, and utilities. It provides fast transaction speeds, low fees, and the operational resilience required for services of national importance.

In this project, Tycho will serve as the foundation for the TVM-based segment of the system, supporting critical transaction processing and enabling robust scalability as the project expands.

A Collaborative Effort

This initiative is being implemented through collaboration between the government bodies of Uzbekistan, HUMO payment system, and the technology partner Asterium. We’re grateful to work alongside such forward-thinking teams and contribute our part to a model that could inspire future digital currency implementations across other countries.

We look forward to supporting the project’s evolution and continuing our work to bring practical blockchain solutions to real-world challenges. To learn more about our infrastructure products, visit broxus.com/infrastructure
